I totally agree.
but a longer event... why? if you can't be there, so what? holidays are ment to spend with your family and friends. a longer event would just encourage you to spend even more time with your computer. if you game every holiday, then you're pathetic. I'm sorry for all the 50 year old fat gamers out there with no friends, but that's the way i feel. So ask yourself: is your pc your best friend? if yes, then go see a doctor or go to a mental institute.

Woohoo, more Gamer points!
Actually, I'm going to go /notsigned on this one. Lag issues, etc.
If they figure lag is so bad that they'd have another Redux, that'd be fine with me. Extending the holiday boosts the Gamer points I win. It still comes at the cost of producing lots of lag, so it's an idea with ups and downs. I think ending the festival sooner than later would be good, but more festival days are fine too.

I think that if festivals lasted longer, the festival "goodies" market would decrease since you can farm them longer and get more making the prices of stacks go down(im one of the sellers, lol)...(maybe it would be the other way around) Either way...
Lame way to think about it.
Sorry but

So what if the price of goodies go down? WE control the market..not A.Net (well A.Net to a point based on updates...primarily skills *which boosted to Sup Shadow Rune from 100g to 10k+, and is allowing major ecto farming*). There are a tonne of other ways to make money on this game though. We may not be making mega cash like in the old days with one item, but that means you'll just have to work harder for your dosh.
Besides at this stage of the game, it's all about acquiring titles and decking out your HoM. I got wind of the GW2 release here in Australia (EB Games) sometime in September of 09...which means there's only just a little over a year for people to get their hopefuls in GW for GW2 additions. That may seem like a long time, but to people like myself that have a job and a family, and don't get a lot of time to play relentlessly...it's not.
If there is any help on gaining titles, I'll take it!

indeed!!! Oo
and having my computer turned on for 3 days is enough lol
if the event lasted more that that it would be a way for rich players to max the lucky title in one week while average players take 1 year to max... (thats not the real time needed but you get the point )

Any and all "meaning" the Dragon Festival event once had has been long exhausted by it already having been repeated so many times. Keeping it to a few days at this point doesn't add any meaning to it at all. In fact it should be opened permanently at this point.
Besides that, wasn't the first Dragon's Festival way longer? Why are the subsequent ones way shorter? That doesn't seem very logical.

One weekend is long enough. Gamer/boardwalk weekends more often would be a better option.

The thing is, some titles are really hard to make with such short events.
I mean, if the lucky title can be achieved with chestrun (after all, I completed 2/3 of lucky title by achieving the chests title on one character), it is not reasonnable thinking to hope doing so with the unlucky title (it would cost sth like 30,000 K. And I don't even speak about the time needed since the higher your lucky rank, the lower your chance to breack lockpicks). This is even more obvious since devs have added a 7th rank to the unlucky titles.
Same thing about Gamer title. In fact it is even worth since u can ONLY score points to that title during festivals or such events.
These 2 facts make it incredibly hard to achieve both titles. I'd be on either for festivals that would last longer, more events, or for other ways to complete these titles off-festivals.

Well, lag for a week would require me to stack even more beers to get through waiting, and really, it's a nice goldsink, but extending it to a week would only serve those with the money to burn. The rest would just want to continue the game where they stopped, and it won't be an event any more... just a periodical change. IMHO 3 days is long enough/too long. If people got bored by minigames they lasted too long in the first place (though a lagless rollerbeetle-race would be amazing, but probably impossible with overloaded servers)
